Cruising Tips

Favourite Places

Our Favourite Anchorages
Admiralty Bay, Bequia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines

Bequia is the yachting centre of the Grenadines. There is always something to see, the anchorage is busy with ferries, arriving megayachts and the to and fro of dozens of cruisers. There are beaches, bars and restaurants, but the atmosphere is friendly and laid back. Some people never leave!

Leinster Bay, St John, US Virgin Islands

Leinster Bay is on the North Coast of St John, just a mile away from Soper's Hole in the BVI, and a short sail from St Thomas.

As part of the National Park, the water is clear, the reef pristine, Ashore there are interesting ruins of a sugar mill, and a variety of easy and strenuous hikes.

Yaukuvelevu, Astrolabe Reef, Fiji

The country of Fiji is made up of hundreds of islands, in several major groups. To the south is a large island called Kadavu, with a large atol extending northwards. Within this reef are several smaller islands, mostly uninhabited, including this one. After presenting our ritual offering of kava root to the chief on the nearby island village of Dravuni, we were able to have Yaukulevu and 3 neighbouring islands to ourselves.
